How do we estimate drone service prices?

This methodology explains the sources, data filtering, range calculation and limitations of the result.

Analysed data status

The dataset currently contains 150 observations from 44 independent sources. The Polish baseline contains 120 observations. Sources were last checked: August 2026.

Where does the data come from?

We use publicly available operator price lists, described offers and other price sources that can be assigned to a specific service, billing unit and VAT status. We do not copy full pages or marketing materials.

What are an observation and an independent source?

An observation is one normalised price fact with its service scope, unit, location and origin. An independent source is a separate price list or publication. Multiple entries from one price list do not count as multiple independent sources.

How do we select comparable data?

The result uses Polish data in PLN with a matching category and billing unit. We separate net, gross and VAT-unspecified prices. Duplicates, records excluded from the baseline and mismatched scope do not affect the result.

P25, median and P75

The lower bound is the 25th percentile (P25), the typical value is the median and the upper bound is the 75th percentile (P75). This range represents the middle half of the comparable sample and is more resistant to individual extreme prices than a simple average.

Outliers and foreign data

Statistical outliers are identified before the range is calculated. Foreign data is used only to check whether the scale is reasonable; it is not converted or included in the Polish median.

Confidence level

High, medium or low confidence depends on the number of observations and sources, data freshness and quality, price dispersion, unit consistency and completeness of VAT information. A text label always accompanies the visual indicator.

Limitations

  • The calculator does not know the exact airspace, weather or risk of a specific operation.
  • It does not assess operator availability, travel cost or urgency.
  • Public price lists can describe different deliverables and do not always specify VAT.
  • The result is information, not an offer, rate recommendation or price guarantee.
