Choosing an operator and working together
What affects the cost of a drone service?
There is no single rate suitable for every drone service. Cost depends on the result, location, working time, equipment and preparation before and after the flight.

Type of deliverable
A few unedited images require different work from an edited video, inspection report, thermal dataset or 3D model. Much of the work may happen after landing.
Location and complexity
Travel, site size, access, number of capture points and surroundings affect the quote. The operator should assess flight feasibility before the job.
Equipment and accuracy
Thermal, multispectral or survey equipment can increase cost. Technical jobs may also depend on accuracy, control points and processing format.
Timing and extras
Urgent delivery, repeat visits, waiting for suitable conditions, extra editing, revisions or wider usage rights may change the price.
- time on site and processing
- travel and number of locations
- required equipment
- licence and intended use
Key takeaways
Give operators the same scope and compare not only the total but exactly what each quotation includes.
